Alison, I’m posting at your old URL so as not to take up space on the new but…
Oddly enough, I can’t figure out how to update my Google Reader so that it incorporates your new URL. When I go to “Manage subscriptions” I can’t find anything that allows me to update the URL. When I simply delete The Human Element, and then click “Add new subscription” and plug in the new URL (http://thehumanelement.co.uk), it subscribes me to the The Human Element at the old URL (https://mackle.wordpress.com). In any event, maybe I’m just being dimwitted or ignorant, and I definitely don’t know how this newfangled Internet thing works, and perhaps there’s an easy way for me to take care of this, but I thought I’d tell you, in case anyone else is having the same problem.
Also, my RSS feed was broken – hopefully it should work now.
Hmmm. I found the new feed a little bit flaky to begin with. I added it on Netvibes (which I use rather than Google reader) and 2 options didn’t work, but the third one did. It now seems to be showing up happily on Netvibes and indeed at the bottom of the new site page. I didn’t delete the old feed (which I’d added as mackle.wordpress), just added the new one. Maybe it’s to do with caches and suchlike? My domain is now pointing firmly to the new site so don’t understand why Google Reader wouldn’t have caught up.
I am not exactly an RSS expert but I’ll have a look.
Google Reader still isn’t cooperating: I’ve tried deleting old and adding new, keeping old and adding new, and renaming old and adding new, and in all instances it just gives me the old back. What I’m going to do now is delete the old and wait a week, and see what happens.
